USEA AEC Pony Rider Award Recipient 2009

United States Eventing Association American Eventing Championships







The recepient of the Novice Mark Phillips Pony Rider Award was Mackenzie Kurtz and the 13.2 Welsh pony, Harry Houdini (pictured left). For the honor, Kurtz was awarded a medal, ribbon, and monogrammed saddle pad. This was the inaugural year of the award.

The USEA will be added a special award at the Bit of Britian/USEA American Eventing Championships. The Mark Phillips Pony Rider Awards was presented to the highest placed Pony Rider in the Beginner Novice, Novice, and Training divisions at the American Eventing Championships. Capt. Mark Phillips, Chef d’equipe for the US Eventing Team has long been a proponent of Pony Rider competitions and the value they bring to younger riders and has willingly lent his support to this program.
